I am in so much pain right now, that I can’t see straight. I had a major migraine earlier and decided to take some Excedrin Migraine for the pain. It worked like a charm but the downside to this stupid brand of painkiller, is that it causes me to always get a horrible, upset stomach. The burning I always feel is unbearable! The first time I took it, I thought it could have been because I took the 2 pills on a semi empty stomach. The second time, I just chalked it up to maybe eating something that was greasy. But this third time, I am so realizing that it’s just the Excedrin brand that is making me feel this way. I don’t know why I keep doing this to myself?!?! I doubt that I will ever be taking Excedrin again. It works just beautifully for my migraine but it’s not worth it for me to get rid of one pain and then get another form of pain. Trading one pain for another is so stupid! The rest of these pills are going into the garbage, that’s for sure, I am done with Excedrin.

Yikes, I had no idea that it’s so late right now. Lately I have been a good girl and have gone to bed at a decent time, like around midnight. Well, at least for me it’s a decent time, haha… I know that it might not be much of a decent time for other regular folks out there, but I am a wee bit of a night owl myself, having been born at a quarter to midnight. It sure doesn’t help me tonight though, having the fiery pain in my belly that keeps me running to the washroom every 15 minutes or so. It’s not my idea of fun, that’s for sure. :(

On another note, I went to Chapters the other day and bought a book that I’ve been meaning to buy for a while now. It’s called “Whacked” and it’s the first book written by Jules Asner. She used to be on E! Television as a corespondent and the original host for the travel show “Wild On…“. Anyway, so I went to Chapters and paid the original price listed on the book sleeve… I came home and visited Chapters.ca and found it to be like 34% cheaper on their website. I mean what the fuck is that all about?! How can they even justify that? What???… So now if you go shopping online it’s cheaper than driving to your local store? What in the hell?… Anyway… needless to say, I was a little pissed off. Who the hell has heard of this sort of shit?! I mean I’ve heard of “Online Only Deals” but this was not such a thing… it’s just a little annoying, is all. So yeah, anyway… as I was saying, I got this book and I have to say that I am just a little bit addicted to it so far. I am having a hard time putting it down. Anybody that knows me, knows that I am not much of a book reader. I mean I read magazines but as far as books are concerned, I haven’t really read one in years. I am a little glad that I am reading books again, it’s so nice to be able to let my imagination run wild. I realized that it’s something I’ve missed low these many years. So if you’re in the mood for a really good read, I totally suggest you go out and get “Whacked”. Okay, now that sounds funny, hehe. :D

Yes, so my stomach is still burning like hell and between writing this post, I have been to the dreaded washroom about 3 times now. It doesn’t look like it’s going to be much of a peaceful night for me right now.

Sometime last week, I found out that Mr. Wayne Newton himself is coming to Edmonton for a concert. I have never been much of a fan, but I have seen him in a few movies/T.V. shows, most recently “National Lampoon’s Vegas Vacation” and Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, and I thought to myself that it would be cool to grab some tickets to see him in the flesh. I got a notification from a Facebook group that I’m a part of about the pre-sale and so I went online to check it out. Much to my surprise, front row, center tickets were up for grabs. So I said what the heck, might as well, and bought them. I then realized that I had just paid a little bit over $200.00 to see a man whose music I have never really heard before, besides the popular song “Danke Schoen”, I have no idea what other songs he sings, not a one comes to mind. At the time, I felt a little bit stupid for making such a rash decision, but then remembered that I had asked Rich what I should do, before I bought them, and he told me to go ahead and get them. It turned out that he had already figured that if the show sells out, I could go on E-Bay and try to sell them there for hard core fans, and make a profit out of it… and if that failed, we could always give them to his father as a birthday gift seeing as how the show is one day before his birthday. And if he isn’t too keen on him then Rich and I would just go and that would be that. I wish I had gotten as lucky with my Billy Idol tickets back in May, the best I could do on that one was row 5 to the left. Not too shabby, it was still pretty damn good, but nothing can beat the tickets that I just got for Wayne Newton. All in all, someone will be happy to use them, whether I sell them on E-Bay, or give them away as a birthday present. I am sure that they will be enjoyed.

Well by now my stomach is feeling a little bit better and thank god I am back to seeing straight again. LOL! First thing I am going to be doing tomorrow is chuck those damn Excedrin pills in the trash. Who needs the pain anyway? I know I don’t, that’s for sure! I am off to bed now. Goodnight! :)

This video is so heartwarming and sweet that I can’t just help but cry every single time that I see it. I am a major animal lover and this video is an example as to why I truly adore animals so much! They are so intelligent, caring and sweet. It really pisses me off when people say that most animals are stupid. In my opinion, those people are just idiots who need to realize that people aren’t the only ones that have a brain in this world. Animals are gods greatest creation and if I could, I would help and rescue them all. All I think about when I watch this video, is of my two beautiful pets, George and Princess. I ♥ you guys! Enjoy the video!

Just in case you were wondering, here is the story behind this beautiful video, as it’s written on the YouTube page:

Christian was a lion purchased in 1969 by two Australians living in London, John Rendall and Anthony ‘Ace’ Bourke (sometimes erroneously cited as Ace Berg) from Harrods department store. They had discovered him for sale in Harrods’ exotic pets department and, concerned for his conditions and fate, decided to buy him.

Rendall, Bourke and their girlfriends Jennifer Mary and Unity Jones cared for the lion until it was a year old. Christian’s increasing size and the cost of looking after him led them to the realization that they could not keep him in London for much longer. The solution came when Bill Travers and Virginia McKenna, stars of the film Born Free, visited Rendall and Bourke’s furniture shop, where Christian spent his days. They suggested that they ask the assistance of George Adamson, the Kenyan conservationist who, together with his wife Joy, was the subject of their movie. Adamson agreed to help them rehabilitate Christian into the wild at his compound at Kora National Reserve.

Adamson slowly introduced Christian to an older lion ‘Boy’ and subsequently to a female cub Katiana in order to form the nucleus of a new pride. Tragedy struck several times: Katiana was possibly devoured by crocodiles at a watering hole. Another female was killed by wild lions. Boy was so injured that he lost his ability to socialize with other lions and humans, and was shot through the heart by Adamson after fatally wounding a man.

That left Christian as the only surviving member of the original pride.

Adamson continued his work, and over the course of a year the pride established itself in the region around Kora, with Christian as the head of the pride started by Boy.

When Rendall & Bourke were informed by Adamson of the successful result in 1971, they traveled to Kenya to pay the visit to Christian that was filmed in the documentary The Lion at World’s End. According to the documentary, Adamson warned Rendall and Bourke that Christian may not remember them, but the film shows a first cautious lion suddenly leaping onto the two men, wrapping his arms on their shoulders and licking their faces. The documentary also shows the female lions, Mona and Lisa, and a foster cub named Supercub welcoming the two men because of the influence of Christian.

Rendall details a final reunion that occurred in 1974. By this time Christian was successfully defending his own pride and had cubs of his own — and he was about twice the size he was in the 1971 reunion video. Adamson warned them that it would most likely be a wasted trip as he had not seen Christian’s pride for nine months. However they discovered when they reached Kora that Christian and his pride had returned to Adamson’s compound the day before their arrival.

Rendall describes the visit he, Bourke, and George Adamson made: “We called him and he stood up and started to walk towards us very slowly. Then, as if he had become convinced it was us, he ran towards us, threw himself on to us, knocked us over, knocked George over and hugged us, like he used to, with his paws on our shoulders.”

The reunion lasted until the next morning when everyone went to bed. According to Rendall that was the last anyone saw of Christian.

Adamson counted the days after that visit until Christian’s return, but gave up waiting after 97 days.

Oh my… it’s been so long since I’ve last blogged. The last time was about 4 years ago and I had my own website at Star-Dom.com. Sadly, I let that site go un-renewed and someone else bought it… which blows for me, hehe. Since then, I have pretty much forgotten how to do HTML and all the wonderful stuff that I used to be able to do, when I had my own site. Such as making my own wonderful layouts to making pages just for the fun of it.

As you can see, I am back. I am back and well I hope this time I can keep myself from falling off the face of the Blog World. I really have missed expressing myself through this wonderful medium.

So many things have gone on since I’ve last blogged. So much that I could have written about… bitched about… expressed my feelings about. What can I say? It’s too late now… but I will try to start anew.

Well… for now, I will leave this as my first post, for tomorrow, I will have something new to write about. :)
